A Rigid Cuckoo Search Algorithm for Solving Short-Term Hydrothermal Scheduling Problem

The key criteria of the short-term hydrothermal scheduling (StHS) problem is to minimize gross fuel cost for electricity production by power generators considering constraints related balance; release water, and storage limitations reservoir, operating thermal hydropower plants. For addressing same problem, numerous algorithms were being used, studies exist in literature; however, they possess concerning solution state number iterations it takes reach state. Hence, this article proposes using an enhanced cuckoo search algorithm (CSA) called rigid (RCSA), a modified version traditional CSA solving StHS problem. proposed RCSA improves decreases iteration numbers with Lévy flight. Here, movement distances are divided into multiple possible steps, which has infinite diversity. effectiveness been validated system. observed results reveal superior performance among all other compared that recently have used It also approach achieved minimum costs than techniques.
